Finders Keepers

These are just some of the few (yes there were many, many more) pictures that I took whilst at the Finders Keepers Markets in Sydney last Friday. If you've never heard of the event before, it's basically a dream world filled with the most delicate and beautiful handmade/vintage jewellery, clothing, art, stationery, home furnishings, etc, etc. The place is always swarming with people trying to find that perfect item and for me it was my Frankie Magazine Daily Journal for 2011. Sadly it's not pictured here, I was a little bit busy being distracted by my surreal surroundings, but don't fret because I will post it up soon.

Blending

(via streetfsn.com)
Two colours that you normally wouldn't suspect to blend well together are certainly black and pink. They normally mix to create an outfit that seems, well, almost stereotypical (if that makes any sense?). However, this ensemble is utterly amazing and is making me so incredibly envious right now (especially over her fiery red locks). That gorgeous skirt wouldn't go down so well in our Summer but come winter time I want me one of those babies.

Bec & Bridge

(Cluster Ring & Amphorous Ring - Rose Gold)
(Wishbone necklace - Silver & Rose Gold)
I don't think that this post really needs all that much explanation. These pieces speak for themselves and yes, of course, we all want at least one of those adorned on our lovely bodies. Christmas wish list anyone?

Stripes

(via theyallhateus)
I think that I die a little bit inside every time I see someone pulling off stripes so effortlessly. Sadly, stripes and myself don't really go hand in hand. It's something that I've never been able to completely grasp because there really isn't a reason for them not to suit me, for some insane and unknown reason they just simply don't. I've attempted them a few times and have been close to pulling them off but never completely. It'll happen one day guys, it just might be a while off yet.

Office Spaces

(via anywho & garypeppervintageblog)
For as long as I can remember, I have always appreciated an organised, light-filled and well furnished space, especially if it happens to feature some beautiful decorative items here and there. When it comes to offices, I believe that these two certainly left me wanting to scramble to IKEA and then drop by some cute stores filled with trinkets, etc on my way back. I love white walls because they're just so clean and crisp, plus the white means that you can build up with thousands of colours elsewhere and you don't have to worry about overcrowding or clashing. I actually let out an audible sigh when I tried to compare these spaces to my own, oh how I wish..

My Sunday Feeling

(via Melody Jasmine)
My Sunday Feeling is a label by Melody Jasmine that boasts multiple collections of the most flattering and whimsical dresses, skirts and tops that you could ever wish to find. Tapered hemlines, ruffled shoulders, intricate detailing and open backs are just a few of the elements that you can expect from the label. Better yet, these handcrafted gems are all one-off pieces, so you'll never have the worry of being caught in the same outfit as others. I can honestly say that each piece offered is unique and certainly something that I haven't seen elsewhere. You can check out Melody Jasmine's collections from the label 'My Sunday Feeling' on Facebook or you can head straight to her website. Good luck deciding on your favourite, it took me at least an hour of browsing before I had narrowed it down to my top three..

Pleats & Snow

(via 5inchandup)
Whatever season you're currently in, there is one trend that works throughout them all: pleats & long, flowing skirts (or dresses). There's really not all that much that needs to be said, these pictures of Sandra from 5 inch and up, show just how gorgeous the trend is.

Park & Cube

(via park&cube)
How amazing is Shini from Park & Cube? That's more of a rhetorical question because I know the answer and it sits somewhere along the lines of: pretty darn amazing. I don't even think there has been a time when I haven't liked an outfit post of hers and I'd also like to point out that she has serious skill when it comes to layering. Head over to her blog and you'll easily spend a few hours trawling through the pages.

Sweater Weather

(via jak&jil blog)
Despite the fact that yesterday was our first day of Summer, it managed to rain almost throughout the entire day. The average temperature was about 20 degrees celsius (68 degrees Fahrenheit). To put that into perspective, our Summer is usually around 32-37 degrees celsius (90-100 degrees Fahrenheit) . It has rained every day for the past four days and wait for it... It's forecast to rain every single day up until the day after Christmas. This is not typical Sydney weather, this is global warming "I'm-killing-all-of-your-sunshine-and-warmth-and-joy" type of weather. Well I'm off to go and rug myself up in a nice warm sweater or coat.
